OUR INNER KID
Our Inner Kid is a speculative festival aimed at rekindling childhood passions. The event encourages adults aged 21 and over to take part in activities usually reserved for children, such as backyard cricket, LEGO, go-karts, and art workshops, alongside festival favourites like live music and drinks. The concept celebrates joy and playfulness without the social pressure to act your age.
A colourful and playful visual identity was developed to evoke a sense of nostalgic fun, applied across posters, tickets, social assets, and signage to bring the festival to life. Expressive typography, bold colour palettes, and dynamic layouts create an atmosphere of inclusivity and energy that captures the festival’s sense of unfiltered fun.
To begin the project, I developed a Design Research Kit (DRK) that was mailed to ten participants to explore their experiences with age and growing up. The responses revealed a strong desire to reconnect with childhood passions and interests, providing key insights that shaped the creative direction of the project.
